Back in November, Apartment 2B asked me to be the DP in their next movie. Ladybeard the story of a young comedian’s quest to keep his fake girlfriend in the closet. HOWEVER, in order to get started this Winter we need about $2000 for audio equipment and the like. I really want to make this film despite finding out that Urban Dictionary really misled me on the meaning of that term.

I’m also making illustrations of bearded ladies for the movie. I’ll continue doing more Bearded Ladies like the one above or Lady Beards like the one below. The sketch below for some reason not usable for the movie, but I said I’d post it once we hit the $200 milestone. If we get fully funded, I’ll finish it. If we go over I’ll give the person who puts us over a copy.

While writing this blog post we just hit $535, and I owe another Bearded Lady illustration. The next milestone is $1000.

Next week I’m emerging from my slumber in Ry’leh hibernation to devour the world maul picnic-teers show art. The biggie being the premier of Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School in Charleston, WV!

Dr. Sketchy’s Charleston and I are also going to be out in force at Art Walk this Thursday. First off, Stray Dog Antiques has been kind enough to let us use one of their display windows to host a free session of Burlesque Figure Drawing. Pepper Fandango will be the living fashion window. We’ll provide art supplies while supplies last.

I’ll have some new pieces to check out at Art Emporium during Art Walk. Check below for a preview.

I’ll also have work at the Masonic Temple with AAWV.

In addition I’ll have work at Shontcy’s It’s an Art Show. Unfortunately, I won’t be there in person due to my responsibilities as Dungeon Master of Ceremony.

2011: The year that I fight the cat.

I know that fitness resolutions are the most cliche thing to work on every year, and usually the most unobtainable. I did really great on my fitness goals in 2009. Not so much in 2010. In many ways I went back to where I started in 2008.

I was looking through my fitness logs the other day. They stopped around this time last year. Some highliights:

• I weighed 199 lbs. (Fat instead of obese).
• I could bench press 140 lbs.
• I could run in a 5k without stopping.

Not so much anymore. I believe my downfall was when I stopped taking notes. So my fitness goals in 2011 is to GET BACK TO WHERE I WAS January 2010. My first milestone is on March 20th. I need to get back to one of those goals by then. Something manageable. Something I’ve done before.

Now I’m making things interesting. To keep me on track if I can make one of those goals by then I get a Lensbaby. Something I’ve wanted, but never been able to justify buying. However, a bribe is not enough. If coworkers are proof enough just a simple prize won’t make me do something. I’m fighting to keep something.

If I don’t make that goal then all the Lensbaby money goes towards cat toys.

That’s just downright insulting. Not only will I still be fat, but now I’ve gotta lavish the cat with all his crap from his wishlist? Fuck no! It’s on, cat!

I think he knows what’s at state too. Judging by the amount he pees in my gym bag.

To say I was close is an understatement.

I had the luck to work with Downhome Decadence last weekend to photograph their Halloween showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I put a slide show of my shots together during the show. You can see them below.

The finished pictures will be up tomorrow.

Because I’m currently locked in the ‘denial’ stage of grief for the loss of October. I will continue clinging on to it until Father Time finally shakes me off into the black maw that is Winter.
